Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas city Chiefs 40-22 to win super bowl 59.

You know it is a beating when a team gives their coach a Gatorade bath with 3 minutes left in the 4th and then put their back ups in. But that’s exactly what the super bowl was. The Chiefs did not score until there were 34 seconds left in the third and then had two more touchdowns in the last 3 minutes against backups, but it was too little to late. The Eagles defense was lethal, sacking Mahomes 6 times and forced 3 turnovers. Mahomes who normally is automatic in big games was terrible, he was not able to connect any passes and even threw 2 picks with a pick six to a 22 year rookie on his birthday. Hurts got his arm back throwing for 221 yards and 2 touchdowns launching a 46 yard touchdown to DeVonta Smith sealing the game. Birthday boys, Saquan Barkley and Cooper DeJean could not have asked for a better birthday present with a super bowl ring. Jake Elliot had his best game of the season not missing one PAT or field goal, scoring 16 points, the most by a kicker in a super bowl. The Eagles breezed past everyone in the playoffs with the super bowl being no exception. The Chiefs really just had one plan which they stuck too throughout the whole game which was too stop Saquan. Barkley only had 57 yards on 25 carries and did not see the end zone once. While the plan worked, loading the box every time came with a consequence as it opened up big plays in the air. On the stat sheet it would look like Rookie Xavier Worthy had the game of his life with 8 receptions with 157 yards and 2 touchdowns and while he did have a great game it was not as good as it seemed. His first touchdown was a 24 yard pass from Mahomes cutting the Eagles lead down to 28 points. Then in the 4th quarter with 1:27 left, Mahomes launched a 50 yard pass to Worthy for a touchdown against the Eagles backup defense. The rookie did show up in the super bowl and while the Chiefs got belt to ass, Worthy proved that he has what it takes to be the Chiefs next great wide receiver. The Eagles ended another three-peat, first one against the Patriots. With a strong team that was two catches away from being 16-1 the Eagles are going to look to go back-to-back next year.
