Tale of two halves
The Eagles came back from 19 points during their 33-24 win over the Rams, looking like a totally different team in the second half. What went wrong in the first half?

Play calling
The biggest thing that changed was the play calling in the second half. Offensive coordinator, Kevin Patullo, had no idea what was going on and while his game plan was failing he continued to play conservative with the Eagles continuing to punt. The Rams would load the box with 6 defenders and the Eagles would see it and run right into it for a yard or two. Or Patullo would call for a pass with Jalen Hurts throwing the ball for 3 yards on a screen or short pass to Saquan Barkley, our running back, was our best receiver, AJ Brown, not getting close to seeing the ball. Everything changed in the second half when the Eagles started to throw the ball long forcing the Rams to drop back. This opened up the both the run with Saquan and Hurts. The Rams defenders did not have the ability to guard both DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown with both of them combining for 169 yards and two touchdowns. With Brown only getting the ball in the second half. Godert started the scoring spree with a 33 yard touchdown with him walking into the end zone. After that the Eagles never looked back scoring 26 straight points.
Right tackleAnother big reason that the Eagles flipped the switch in the second half was because of Fred Johnson. Lane Johnson suffered a stinger (neck injury) during the first half of the game and never returned (he will be fine for the buccaneers). After he went down, Matt Pryor was subbed in and was terrible. Pryor played 15 snaps giving up 3 sacks where his defender ran right by him with his last play having him whiff on Jared Verse who would then strip Jalen Hurts giving the Rams the ball on the the Eagles 8 yard line. Pryor was benched after that play for Fred Johnson who would jump right in and have no problems. Fred Johnson would stay in for the rest of the game holding his own against Verse.
Defense
Despite the missteps with the offense, the Eagle’s defense kept them in the game. While the offense struggled the defense stayed strong and sticking to Vic Fangio’s bend not break defense forcing 6 field goal attempts, blocking 2 of them.. Although the Eagles’ offense made the necessary corrections in the second half, it was fitting that the game was ultimately won on a strong defensive play with 340 pound Jordan Davis helping out with the first one and blocking the second before running at 18.59 miles per hour as time expired into the end zone to seal the Eagles win.
The Eagles are going to need to play like they did in the second half if they want to beat the Buccaneers after losing to them 3 times in the last 5 years with the most memorable one being in 2021 when the Buuccaneers beat the Eagles 31-15 in the divisional game. The Eagles will be without their star edge rusher, Nolan Smith Jr., who has been placed on IR. Let’s hope the Eagles can learn from their past mistakes and put the right person to fill his spot.

Beating in New Orleans
Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas city Chiefs 40-22 to win super bowl 59.

You know it is a beating when a team gives their coach a Gatorade bath with 3 minutes left in the 4th and then put their back ups in. But that’s exactly what the super bowl was. The Chiefs did not score until there were 34 seconds left in the third and then had two more touchdowns in the last 3 minutes against backups, but it was too little to late. The Eagles defense was lethal, sacking Mahomes 6 times and forced 3 turnovers. Mahomes who normally is automatic in big games was terrible, he was not able to connect any passes and even threw 2 picks with a pick six to a 22 year rookie on his birthday. Hurts got his arm back throwing for 221 yards and 2 touchdowns launching a 46 yard touchdown to DeVonta Smith sealing the game. Birthday boys, Saquan Barkley and Cooper DeJean could not have asked for a better birthday present with a super bowl ring. Jake Elliot had his best game of the season not missing one PAT or field goal, scoring 16 points, the most by a kicker in a super bowl. The Eagles breezed past everyone in the playoffs with the super bowl being no exception. The Chiefs really just had one plan which they stuck too throughout the whole game which was too stop Saquan. Barkley only had 57 yards on 25 carries and did not see the end zone once. While the plan worked, loading the box every time came with a consequence as it opened up big plays in the air. On the stat sheet it would look like Rookie Xavier Worthy had the game of his life with 8 receptions with 157 yards and 2 touchdowns and while he did have a great game it was not as good as it seemed. His first touchdown was a 24 yard pass from Mahomes cutting the Eagles lead down to 28 points. Then in the 4th quarter with 1:27 left, Mahomes launched a 50 yard pass to Worthy for a touchdown against the Eagles backup defense. The rookie did show up in the super bowl and while the Chiefs got belt to ass, Worthy proved that he has what it takes to be the Chiefs next great wide receiver. The Eagles ended another three-peat, first one against the Patriots. With a strong team that was two catches away from being 16-1 the Eagles are going to look to go back-to-back next year.

Super Bowl LIX: Chiefs vs. Eagles Showdown
Biggest game of the season, everything on the line. Will the Chiefs clinch a 3-peat or will Hurts and the Eagles get revenge for super bowl 57?

Season overview
The Chiefs have had the best season that they could ask for and ended with a record of 15-2 with only one real loss which was to the Bills in week 11. Mahomes has been working his magic and with a ton of help from the refs, the Chiefs are back in the super bowl. The Chiefs have battled through injuries and have just found a way to win. Meanwhile, Saquan Barkley going to the Eagles is the best thing that has happened since they last won a super bowl in 2017. The dominant running game has been almost unstoppable and Hurts is finally back in his groove throwing for 246 yards and a touchdown in a blowout NFC championship game. The Eagles will be looking for another chance at the Chiefs after a questionable holding call in super bowl 2022 ended their season. Hurts threw for 304 yards in that game and he wants redemption.
Super Bowl LIX
Eagles vs. Chiefs (-1.5)
When: Sunday at 6:30
Where: Caesars Superdome in New Orleans
My prediction: Eagles win 31-27
The Eagles have been on a roll lately and it is going to be really hard to stop them. Hurts is playing his best football yet and combined with the best rushing offense in the league the Chiefs defense is going to have their hands full. Saquan has 7 rushing touchdowns that have been over 60 yards this season (most ever) and I would not be surprised if he has another. On the other side of the ball, the Eagles defense has been proving their worth, but are going to have to have another great performance if they are going to stop Mahomes who is coming off a strong win against the Bills. Patrick Mahomes lives for the big moments and will once again have the help of the referees in this one. Although Mahomes is not having his best season, he is not someone to go down without a fight.
Key Factors
Defense wins games, turnovers lose them. Turnovers in this game are going to be the factor between a team winning or losing. The Eagles have a turnover differential of +10 in the playoffs and the offense has not turned the ball over once. This was a huge reason why the Eagles put up 55 points against the Commanders last week. The Chiefs only turned the ball away once in the playoffs on a hand off which led to a Bills touchdown. Mahomes and the Chiefs have not turned the ball over much during the season but anything can happen in the super bowl. Another huge factor in this game is how well the o-line and d-lines play. The Chiefs have not allowed a 100-yard rusher in the playoffs since 2019 but Saquan is looking to change that. The Eagles o-line has been an unmovable force whether it is making holes for Saquan or stopping people from getting to Hurts. The Chiefs defensive line knows this and are going to have their work cut out for them because if they let Saquan get hot they are going to pay. But if they can stop the run and trap Hurts in the pocket and not let him escape it will be a good day to be a Chiefs fan, you just have to hope that the Chiefs back field is locking up one of the best wide receiver and tight end cores in the NFL. The Chiefs offensive line is going to have to give Mahomes the time he needs because the Eagles back field is going to be locking up the Chiefs. The Chiefs offensive line has given up more sacks this year than in the past 6+ years and the Eagles defense is ready to hunt. The Eagles have a top 5 run and pass rush defense with a big thanks to Jalen Carter who stands at 6’3, 313 pounds and is not afraid to throw a punch. Lastly, the Eagles defense is going to have to stop Kelce. Last week the Eagles could not stop the Commanders tight end Zach Ertz who had 104 yards. Although Terry McLaurin, the Commanders’ WR1, was taken care of, Zach Ertz was not. If Kelce gets the ball as much as Ertz, which Mahomes will attempt to do, and is as wide open, this game could get out of hand.
Will the chiefs get the three peat or will the Eagles get revenge?

2025 NFL award predictions
As the season comes to an end, who played the best until the end, never letting their team down.

MVP
Finalist: Josh Allen, Saquan Barkley, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson
My prediction: Josh Allen
Josh Allen has had a terrific season and as of right now he is a favorite to win the MVP. He has thrown for 3,731 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and only six interceptions and has ran for 531 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns while not having a real wide receiver. He led this team of missing pieces to the 2nd spot in the AFC and on to the second round of playoffs for the 5th year in a row. Josh Allen is looking to bring Buffalo their first super bowl.
Saquan Barkley has had the best season of his career. He had 2,005 yards along with 13 touchdowns and has made some of the best highlights this season. He is undoubtedly the best running back this season. He won his first playoff game over the weekend and does not want to end his historical season just yet. It will be hard for him to win MVP but he has a strong case for offensive player of the year.
Joe Burrow led the league in passing yards and passing touchdowns with 4,918 yards, and 43 touchdown with only 9 interceptions. But could not bring his team to the playoffs even though his WR1 Ja’Marr chase, had a receiver triple crown (Most yards, most receiving touchdowns, most receptions) and Trey Hendrickson had the most sacks in the league with 17.5 sacks. If you had a team that has the starpower like the Bengals but you cannot bring them to the playoffs, how can you make a statement that you are the best player in the league.
If Josh Allen does not win the MVP then Lamar Jackson will. Lamar threw for 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns and 4 interceptions and ran for 915 yards and 4 touchdowns. Lamar helped the ravens win the AFC North for the 2nd year in a row with the help of star running back Derrick Henry, who together have been like batman and Robin being a defensive nightmare. Although Lamar Jackson has better stats then Josh Allen, he has a stacked team with 8 players making the pro bowl where as Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bill have faced doubts all season and only had 2 player selected for the pro bowl. Lamar Jackson will have to prove why he should be MVP in divisional round match up against the Bills. Whoever wins will have the upper hand in winning the MVP.
Offensive Player of the year
Finalist: Saquan Barkley, Lamar Jackson, Ja’marr chase
My prediction: Saquan Barkley
Ja’marr chase has had a great season with 127 receptions, 1708 yards, and 17 touchdowns. He was Joe Burrows go to guy over the season but was his season better than Saquan’s? No. Saquan Barkley became just the ninth running back to reach the 2,000 yard mark and could have potentially broken the record if he played in the last game of the season. Although he would have had an extra game to break the record if he had 33 carries that game he still would have less carries then Eric Dickerson. He has the best offensive line in the league which makes it so hard to stop him. His insane athleticism and determination to win makes him a deadly rusher who if given space will abuse it.
Defensive player of the year
Finalist: T.J. Watt, Patrick Surtain II, Myles Garrett (however, I think Zach Baun should have been a finalist).
My prediction T.J Watt
T.J Watt had a great season leading the leading the league in forced fumbles while also having 11.5 sacks. T.J Watts 6 forced fumbles helped the Steelers have one of the best turnover ratios in the league. The only thing that slowed him down this season was when he got injured with a knee injury in week 15 against the Eagles. Before he got hurt though, he had 2 sacks and one forced fumbles against the best offensive line in the league. TJ Watt’s great season ended in the hands of the ravens but he still has hope in winning his fourth defensive player of the year.
Another player who has had a great defensive year is Zach Baun. He should be a finalist in this category. Last year he was on special teams for the Saints and now he calls the plays for the Eagles. He is the commander of the defense and is one of the main reasons they are the best defense in the league. He has 93 solo tackles, 3.5 sacks and 5 forced fumbles. With him in the back field it has been extremely hard for running backs to break through for big gains this season. Although I think T.J Watt will win, Zach Baun’s great season cannot be left unheard.
Offensive rookie of the year
Finalist: Jayden Daniels, Brock Bowers, Bo Nix
My prediction: Jayden Daniels
Jayden Daniels has had one of the best seasons a rookie could ask for and it is not over yet. He was drafted in the first round with the 2nd pick by the commanders in the 2024 draft. This season he had 3,568 yards, 25 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He turned around the season for the commanders and now have them playing against the lions in his biggest game. Most quarterbacks drafted in the first round normally need a “warm up year” in the NFL before things start clicking for them and the team, but this was not the case for Jayden who jumped right into it.
Defensive rookie of the year
Finalist: Jared Verse, Quinyon Mitchell, Chop Robinson My prediction: Quinyon Mitchell
Jared Verse, a defensive lineman drafted in the first round, 19th pick from Florida state, plays on the Rams. Over this past season, he has been almost too much to handle for most offensive lines. He had 36 solo tackles, 4.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. Verse was drafted to help fill the void of Aaron Donald and has done a solid job. He registered the second-most pressures through a player’s first 16 career games with 72. Despite this great season, it falls short of what Quinyon Mitchell accomplished.
Quinyon Mitchell, a corner back, was drafted by the Eagles in the first round with the 22nd pick out of Toledo. He has been a lock down corner being one of the best on the top defense in the league. He recorded 37 solo tackles, 12 passes defended and had his first interception against the Packers in the wild card game. Mitchell ranks 2nd in the league with 14 forced in-completions and has allowed just 70 yards on him. He has locked up many top wide receiver and recently held Terry McLaurin to zero catches.
Coach of the year
Finalist: Kevin O’Connell, Dan Campbell, Dan Quinn My prediction: Dan Quinn
Kevin O’Connell and the Vikings have had a great season and it ended with a tough loss to the Rams. For the Vikings, the season could not have been much better, considering they lost their first round pick and starting quarterback JJ McCarthy in preseason when he tore his ACL. Kevin O’Connell transformed Sam Darnold into the best form he could be and brought them to the playoffs with 14 wins. This was only the 4th time that the Vikings won 13 or more games since 1965. But when I think of coach of the year only one coach really comes to my mind and that coach is Dan Quinn. A coach who transformed a team that was playing for the number 1 pick in the draft last year to now playing for a chance to play in the Super Bowl. He transformed their team on both sides of the ball. With the win over the Buccaneers, the Commanders won their first playoff win since 2005 and Dan Quinn is the main reason for that.

About Damn Time
Joel Embiid, after getting robbed of the MVP many times, has won the MVP (most valuable player).

How it All Started
Embiid was born in Yaoundé, Cameroon on March 16, 1994. Twenty-nine years later he’s an MVP and leading the 76ers to a championship. How did it happen? He was a very tall volleyball player and did not pick up a basketball until he was 15 years old. He’d played pick up basketball shooting bricks, while yelling out Kobe. 7 years later he was playing Kobe. He got invited to play in a basketball camp and two months later he was on a plane to Florida for a high school in America after playing basketball for only 3 months. He was only 16 years old when he first arrived in America and did not know any English, or anyone in America. He was skinny, soft and the first practice he went to he got kicked out of because he was so bad. A year later he committed to Kansas. In his first scrimmage at Kansas he got dunked on so badly that he looked at plane tickets back to Cameroon and he asked his coach if he could red shirt. Embiid watched and studied YouTube videos of Hakeem Olajuwon, Kobe Bryant, Micheal Jordan, and other big men. He got drafted in the 1st round 3rd pick by the Philadelphia 76ers.
Through the Years
In his first year, he only played in only 31 games but still managed to be an All rookie in the 2016-2017 season. The next year Embiid, averaging 27.5 points per game, brought the Sixers to the playoffs but they fell short in game 5 to Boston. The next year Embiid got his first All-star selection but the Sixers fell short of a championship appearance after they lost in the conference semifinals in game 7 to the Raptors since Kawhi Leonard hit a buzzer beater that hit the rim 5 times to win game 7. In the Covid shortened 2019 season, Embiid averaged 23 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 3 assists but the Sixers got swept by the Celtics in the first round. In 2020, Embiid averaged 28.5 points and the Sixers ended the regular season 1st in the East but got stopped on their road to victory by the Hawks in game 7 in the conference semifinals. Joel Embiid averaged 30.6 points, 11.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 68 games in the 2021-22 season and finished second in the MVP vote. He and many other people felt like he got robbed. The Sixers would lose in game 7 to the Heat in the conference finals. Through the years Embiid has been a 6x All Star, 2x Scoring Champ, 4x All-NBA, 2016-17 All-Rookie, 3x All-Defensive, and now a 2022-23 MVP.
eMVPiid
Embiid ended the 2022-2023 season with 33.1 points per game (1st) 10.2 rebounds (8th) and 4.2 assist (52nd). He had only 10 regular season games where he had under 30 points and had 3 games that he had over 50 points. Embiid finished with 73 first place votes edging Nikola Jokić, who had 15 first place votes and Giannis Antetokounmpo, 12 first place votes. Embiid is the first player to win the MVP as a 76er since Allen Iverson in the 2000-01 season and he is only the seventh international player to be named MVP. But after getting robbed multiple times Joel Embiid finally has what he deserves, an MVP.

Super Bowl 57 Predictions
Last game of the year. Winner is champion, loser goes home in shame and misery. One Game.

The conference championship game was a tale of two games. With the Eagles blowing out the 49ers 31-7 in the NFC championship. Eagles started good and never looked back in a game that was over by halftime. The 49ers lost 2 quarterbacks in the game though. The Chiefs game was a different story though, with the Chiefs winning on a last second field goal in their 23-20 win over the Bengals for the AFC title. After a bad late hit penalty (15 yards) set Chiefs kicker Harrison Buckler up for a 45 yard kick to win it in the dying seconds.
Super Bowl 57
Chiefs vs Eagles (-1.5) Time: Sunday at 6:30 My prediction: Eagles win 34-31. This match up could not be better. Both teams have a quarterback who is in the MVP race and is at least top 3, a record of 16-3 (including playoffs), have scored 546 points, average 4.6 yards per carry and both have a Kelce brother on their team. Patrick Mahomes is playing on a high ankle sprain and “isn’t 100 percent yet” said Andy Reid. The Eagle’s D-line has been amazing this year with 70 sacks in total and are planning to test Mahomes ankle early. It will be Nick Sirianni’s revenge game after Andy Reid fired him in 2013 when Andy Reid joined the Chiefs.

Don’t Mess With Rocky
Every team that has done something to the rocky statue has lost

In 2018 the Minnesota Vikings had just come off of a big win against the Saints (Minnesota miracle) and were to play the Eagles who had just barely beat the falcons in the wild card round next. The Vikings fans were just a bit too cocky and showed that by putting Vikings gear on the Rocky statue. The Eagles man-handled them and won 38-7. The Eagles made it to the super bowl being the underdog in every game in the playoff that year and had to play the Patriots, who had came back from 24 points to beat the Falcons in the super bowl the year before and were looking to go back to back against the Eagles. The Patriots fans thought that the Eagles were no match for them and thought that they could have some fun in Philly by putting a Tom Brady jersey on the Rocky statue. That didn’t end well for the Patriots because they lost 41-33 in the super bowl and the Eagles have not let them forget it. Then in 2023, 5 years to the day of when the Vikings put Vikings stuff on Rocky and lost 38-7, Giants fans who for some reason thought that they could beat the Eagles and put a Giants jersey on the Rocky statue to show how much they hate Philly but then lost 38-7. Is history repeating itself? Just this weekend the 49ers put a 49ers shirt on the Rocky statue. The Eagles put an end to the game pretty early in their 31-7 win. Now the Philadelphia Eagles are set to face the Kansas City Chiefs in the super bowl. Ahead of the game star tight-end for the chiefs Travis Kelce said to Chiefs fans “Chiefs, do not touch the f–king Rocky memorial!” “and definitely don’t put an No. 87 [jersey] on it!” The Rocky curse is real and if you mess with it you’ll get what you deserve.

2023 conference round predictions
4 teams left, you win you’re in the super bowl you lose you go home.

The divisional round was as exciting as surprising. Starting with the Kansas City Chiefs 27-20 win over the jaguars but, the win came with a price as Patrick Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain. Later that night the Eagles showed the world why they are the number one seed destroying the Giants 38-7. Sunday started with the Bengals gliding past the Bills 27-10 forcing Bills fans to get a refund on the championship game tickets. Then the 49ers beat the Cowboys 19-12 in a game of mostly field goals.
NFC Championship
49ers vs. Eagles (-2.5) Time: 3:00 My prediction: Eagles win 24-21
The game is going to come down to which O-line and D-line does better. Both teams have amazing D-lines ranking near the top for sacks and yards per carry and if the O-lines give their quarterbacks time in the pocket and holes for their running back to go through then they will win. The 49ers have been on a hot streak winning their last 12 games. The Eagles went into last week’s game against the Giants being called frauds but that only fired them up; they blew out the Giants and are still hungry. Plus the Eagles star corner back Avonte Maddox might return for the game. Nick Sirianni said that he is hopeful for him to return and that Maddox played in practice Wednesday but was limited. Whoever wins books the first spot into the super bowl.
AFC Championship
Chiefs vs Bengals (-1.5) Time: 6:30 My prediction: Bengals win 24-21
The last three times these teams have played, the Bengals won, so the Chiefs will be looking for revenge. But in last week’s divisional round game, Patrick Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain. Although coach Reid said that he will play, it is still unknown if he will be 100% for the game. The Bengals have just come off of a big win against the Bills and are still looking to prove to the Chiefs and NFL that they should not have started selling tickets to a Chiefs vs. Bills game before it happened. They also want to get back to the super bowl, but this time, unlike last year, win it. A chance to win the super bowl is on the line and every second will matter.

2023 Divisional Round Predictions
8 teams left but only one team can win. My predictions for the divisional round.

Super wild card weekend is one way to put it, with it’s surprises and nail biters you could not miss a minute of any game. With the Jags coming back to win against the Chargers 31-30 after Trevor Lawrence threw 4 interception in the first half and were down by as many as 27 points. The Dolphins surprised the Bills and never stopped fighting in a back and forth game but it was just not enough as the Bills won 34-31. With 12 minutes left in the game and the Ravens on the 1 yard line with everything going their way, the Ravens backup quarterback Tyler Huntley tried to jump over the Bengals D-line, but fumbled, the ball was picked up by the Bengals and returned for a 98 yard touchdown for the last score of the game in the Bengals 24-17 win over the Ravens. In the NFC the 49ers started strong and never looked back in their 41-23 win over the Seahawks. The Giants won their first playoff game in 11 years after the upset win over the Vikings 31-24. Dak Prescott had a 5 touchdown performance in their blowout win over the Buccaneers even though the Cowboys kicker Brett Maher missed 4 extra points, final score 31-14 cowboys.
Saturday
(4) Jaguars vs (1) Chiefs (-8.5) Time: 4:30 pm My prediction: Chiefs win 34-24 This is not the first time these two teams have played each other. Back in week 10, the Chiefs won 27-17 after a quick start. The Chiefs ended the season strong and the team hasn’t looked like they lost their best wide receiver who is one of the best in the league before the season started. They showed the doubters that that they can still win without Hill and booked the number 1 spot in the AFC. The Jaguars started the season 4-8 but ended on a 5 game winning streak. They had a nail biter against the Chargers in the wild card game. Plus, Trevor Lawrence has never lost a game on Saturday since before high school having a record of 37-0 on Saturday so don’t doubt out the Jags too early.
(6) Giants vs (1) Eagles (-7.5) Time: 8:15 pm My prediction: Eagles win 31-20 The won in both of their meetings in the regular season this pretty handily too. 66 2/3% of the time, the team that won the first two games wins again. But Saquon Barkley as well as Daniel Jones have been playing really well in recent games leading them to victory. The Giants also pulled off the upset over the Vikings in the wildcard game so the Eagles may be in for a surprise.
Sunday
(3) Bengals vs (2) Bills (-5) Time: 3:00 pm My prediction: Bills win 34-31 These two teams played each other in week 17 but was canceled after Damar Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest on the field. The game will be played 20 days after the incident. Both teams had close wildcard games but played the best when needed to and avoided embarrassing losses. Both teams have depth in all areas of the field so it is going to be a good game.
(5) Cowboys vs (2) 49ers (-4) Time: 6:30 pm My prediction: 49ers win 41-35 The Cowboys will be looking for revenge after the 49ers knocked them out of the playoffs last year in the wild card round. They had a big wild card win over the Buccaneers in their wild card game last week and are rolling. The 49ers destroyed the Seahawks winning by 18 points and are on an 11 game winning streak.

Is this Wentz’s last year as a starter?
By: Ben Lavelle
Carson Wentz was drafted in the 1st round (2nd overall) in the 2016 draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. He had a promising rookie season and an encouraging second year. His third season however he was playing lights out. The Eagles were 10-2 and Carson was the favorite to win MVP. Then, with 4 minutes left in the 3rd quarter with the Eagles losing 24-28 against the Rams, 1st and goal on the Rams, he scrambled out to the right and dove for the end zone getting crushed by two Rams’ players. He would play four more snaps before finding Alshon Jeffery in the end zone for a touchdown. Nick Foles would step in and finish the game off. He would lead the Eagles to their first ever Super Bowl win. Carson Wentz would miss the rest of the regular season and playoffs, as well as the first two games of the 2019 season with a torn ACL and LCL. The next season, he returned in week three and would finish with a record of 5-6 but would miss the last three games with a fractured back but avoided surgery. Then in the next game that Carson Wentz played, he would suffer a concussion in the team’s wild card playoff loss to the Seahawks in the first quarter.
Path With The Colts
The Eagles then traded Carson to the colts for a 2021 3rd round draft pick and a 2022 1st round draft pick. In his first season he led the Colts to a record of 9-8 but could not get them into the playoffs. Carson played with the Colts for just one season before getting traded to the Commanders for a 2nd and 3rd round draft pick in the 2022 draft and a conditional round pick in the 2023 draft. Colts coaches said that he had a perceived lack of leadership, an unwillingness to accept coaching and criticism but also had a reckless style of play.
Where Wentz is right now
Wentz started the 2022 season as a starter for the Commanders. Wentz played the first 6 1/2 games before fracturing his finger and getting surgery. While Wentz was injured Tyler Heinicke stepped up in his spot and when Wentz’s finger fully healed he stayed benched under Heinicke. Commanders’ coach Ron Rivera said that Carson might start in their week 18 game against the cowboys but as of right now he is the backup. Carson Wentz’s starting status for next year is still unknown but it is looking like he will be a backup next year. I don’t think Wentz will ever be a starter because of his lack of leadership and ability to be coached. He is also, injury-prone getting injured 10 times in his last 7 seasons which has resulted in him missing lots of games. Not a stat you want to have.
